Live Webinar: The Intersection of Adoption and Addiction

August 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Adoptees are almost twice as likely to struggle with substance abuse and addiction then their non-adopted counterpart. However, treatment options are severely limited and under-researched, and adoptees often go unnoticed and underserved when it comes to substance abuse treatment. This presentation will explore the current research, as well as provide potential treatment options, considerations, and modalities for treating this misunderstood subset of the adoptee population.

About the presenter:

Dr. Brett Furst, LMFT, holds a B.S. in Child and Adolescent Development from the University of California, Davis, an M.A> in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University, and a Doctorate in Couples and Family Therapy from Alliant International University.
