Access to Educational Materials and Mental Health, What’s the Connection?

This presentation will share key components of the WCASS (Wisconsin Council of Administrators of Special Services) Guide on providing students with disabilities access to grade-level curriculum, the outcome of a statewide collaborative project. The presentation will spotlight the legal obligation, examples of resources, and the mental health connection when this fundamental need is not met.

Presenter: Toni Chambers, M.S. Ex. Ed; CPPS Is a parent with lived experience, foster parent, and adoptive parent whose learning is continuous. Toni is a certified parent-peer specialist with decades of teaching experience across ages and platforms. Toni had the experience of collaborating on the statewide collaborative project for the Guide, led by the late Nissan Bar-Lev.
