Why We Need You!
 It can be hard to think about … but despite the hard work of state and local government and private child welfare agencies, there are still children in Wisconsin who suffer abuse and neglect at the hands of their parents. These children need and deserve our protection. Almost every day, social workers are looking for safe, caring homes for these children.
How can you tell if fostering or adopting is right for you?
- Your patience and a sense of humor are two of your greatest strengths.
- You are good with kids.
- Your commitment will help change a child's future.
- You like opening doors for people to show them new opportunities.
- You have a spare bedroom and you would rather have it go to a child or sibling group rather than turn it into another storage closet.
- You know how important it is to be part of a family.
- You know that the difference between a problem and an opportunity is your point of view.
- You believe that kids need to stay in their neighborhoods so they remain in their schools, keep their same friends, and visit the community park.
