Foster
Parent Handbook
The Foster Care and Adoption Resource Center staff and members of a statewide work group created the model for the Wisconsin Foster Parent Handbook contained below.
Foster care licensing agencies are not required to use this Wisconsin Foster Parent Handbook but are required to provide a foster parent handbook to their foster parents. For more information about the requirement, see the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families numbered memo at: http://dcf.wisconsin.gov/children/foster/polmemo/nummemos.htm) The memo also outlines the minimum content areas that must be addressed in an agency’s foster parent handbook.
The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families –Division of Safety and Permanence will be providing as many printed copies of the model Wisconsin Foster Parent Handbook to public and tribal agencies as funding allows. Information about obtaining printed copies can be found at http://dcf.wisconsin.gov/children/foster/pubs/pubrptdir.HTM
